Further, UPS Freight announced an average net 4.9 percent general rate increase effective September 19, 2016. Daily rates for UPS U.S. Air and International services will increase an average net 4.9 percent. Ground service Daily rate will increase by an average net 4.9 percent. FedEx Corp. Reports Solid Second Quarter Earnings GrowthImproved Base Yields and E-Commerce Growth Drive ResultsMEMPHIS, Tenn., December 16, 2015 … FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) today reported adjusted earnings of $2.58 per diluted share for the second quarter ended November 30, compared to adjusted earnings of $2.16 per diluted share a year ago. Without adjustments, FedEx reported earnings of $2.44 for the second quarter compared to $2.31 per diluted share last year. FedEx Ground average daily volume grew 9% in the second quarter, primarily driven by growth in e-commerce. Additional information and operating data are contained in the company’s annual report, Form 10-K, Form 10-Qs and second quarter fiscal 2016 Statistical Book. International export revenue per package decreased 9% as lower fuel surcharges and unfavorable currency exchange rates more than offset higher base rates.

FedEx Freight Introduces New Zone-Based PricingEffective January 4, 2016, FedEx Freight will introduce zone-based rates along with a zone locator tool, allowing customers to create a customized zone locator and quickly find a rate for their shipment. Along with the online access to the zone locator tool, customers will also have access to the additional pickup and delivery charge tier lists, zone-based rates booklets and zone-based rates FAQs online. This change will reduce some of the complexity of general less-than-truckload (LTL) pricing.
