Canada Post Issues Update on International Parcel Post

Canada Post has adapted its transportation links to comply with new international aviation security measures that took effect in November 2010. Most service levels have returned to normal.

Parcels destined for Central America, South America and the Caribbean:

*Service levels for parcels being mailed to Central America, South America and the Caribbean have returned to normal.
*Temporary suspension of the on-time delivery guarantee has been lifted.

Xpresspost™ – USA items mailed from Western Canada:

*Most Xpresspost™ – USA items mailed from Western Canada have returned to normal service levels (exception: items not packaged in the Xpresspost™ – USA prepaid envelope continue to experience minor delays).
*Xpresspost™ – USA items (except prepaid envelopes) originating in British Columbia continue to have one business day added to the guaranteed delivery standards. For items originating in Alberta, two business days are being added to the guaranteed delivery standards. For example, a parcel mailed in Vancouver showing a two-day delivery standard in the Postal Guide will be guaranteed to be delivered within three business days. Similarly, a parcel mailed in Calgary showing a two-day delivery standard in the Postal Guide will be guaranteed to be delivered within four business days.

Until further notice, Canada Post will continue to honour on-time delivery guarantee claims for all Xpresspost™ – USA items, with adjustments for items mailed from Alberta or British Columbia, per above. Delivery standards and routing for Xpresspost™ – USA from all Canadian origins can be found on the Postal Guide under Delivery Standards.

Xpresspost™ – USA Prepaid Envelope Content Restrictions
This is a reminder that Xpresspost™ – USA prepaid envelopes may contain documents only, up to a maximum of 500 grams. Xpresspost™ – USA prepaid envelopes that do not comply will be returned to sender at the sender's expense.
