“A passion for volunteerism is ingrained in FedEx’s corporate culture, and FedEx Cares Week is just one of the many ways we join together to give back.”Now in its eighth year, FedEx Cares Week serves as the formal kick-off for the annual FedEx United Way campaign.
“FedEx Cares Week gives FedEx team members across the globe the opportunity to make a difference in their own backyards,” said Tabatha Stephens, manager of Corporate Contributions & Volunteers at FedEx.
This year’s FedEx Cares Week service projects include:Painting, organizing and landscaping a playground in Denver, Colo.
More than 4,000 FedEx volunteers worldwide will donate their time and talents to serving local organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in the communities where FedEx team members live and work.

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 10, 2012—FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) launches its eighth annual FedEx Cares Week , providing volunteer and service opportunities for team members both in the U.S. and around the world. More than 4,000 FedEx volunteers worldwide will donate their time and talents to serving local organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in the communities where FedEx team members live and work.

FedEx Cares Week will be held from Sept. 10 – 14, 2012 in more than 40 U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Memphis, Miami, New York, Newark, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Paul/Minneapolis and Washington, D.C.

Additionally, FedEx team members across the globe will serve their communities for FedEx Cares Week in countries such as Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Italy, Jamaica, Thailand, and Turks and Caicos.

“FedEx Cares Week gives FedEx team members across the globe the opportunity to make a difference in their own backyards,” said Tabatha Stephens, manager of Corporate Contributions & Volunteers at FedEx. “A passion for volunteerism is ingrained in FedEx’s corporate culture, and FedEx Cares Week is just one of the many ways we join together to give back.”

Now in its eighth year, FedEx Cares Week serves as the formal kick-off for the annual FedEx United Way campaign. In addition to volunteering thousands of hours each year, FedEx and its team members gave more than $15 million to the United Way in 2011.

This year’s FedEx Cares Week service projects include:

Painting, organizing and landscaping a playground in Denver, Colo.

Processing and storing donations at Gleaners Food Bank in Indianapolis, Ind.

Constructing basic transitional housing for families living in extreme poverty in Latin America

Collecting used clothes for the homeless in the Czech Republic

Cleaning and landscaping Furongzhang Park in Guangzhou, China
