Mark Kemper, a 34-year UPS veteran, has assumed command as president of the company’s new and expanded North Atlantic District, directing small package operations in an area that covers parts of two states.

The North Atlantic District is one of 17 districts dividing the United States. It includes the five boroughs of New York City, the northern portion of New Jersey including Trenton and Newark, and the southeast portion of New York State. The district features a package-delivery operation with some 23,000 employees.

Kemper most recently served as the manager of UPS’s New Jersey District. He began his UPS career in 1979 as a package handler in Lansing , Mich. He was promoted to business manager in 1987. Mark worked in special assignments in the Midwest Region and served as Labor Relations manager in the Michigan District prior to being promoted to division manager in the South Ohio District in 1991. After assignments in Corporate Schools, Corporate TSA Compliance and the Metro Philadelphia District, Mark was promoted to East Central Region operations manager. Mark became the Alabama District Manager in 2007. In 2009, Mark assumed the role of Metro Jersey District Manager. This district expanded and was renamed the New Jersey District a year later.
