Investor Relations Officer Andy Dolny to Retire After 32 Years

UPS (NYSE: UPS) announced the retirement of Andy Dolny, investor relations officer and corporate treasurer, after 32 years with the company. The announcement was made by UPS Chairman and CEO Scott Davis during the company’s earnings call on January 30, 2014.

In addition to Dolny’s retirement, three other top financial assignments were announced. Teresa Finley has been named corporate treasurer; Richard Peretz replaces Finley as corporate controller for the company; and Joe Wilkins has been named to replace Dolny as investor relations officer. All three will report to Chief Financial Officer Kurt Kuehn.

Finley, 52, has served as UPS’s corporate controller for the past four years. Her previous role was as chief financial officer for international operations. Before moving to international operations, she served as investor relations officer from November 2003 to August 2007.

Peretz, 52, has served as the vice president of finance and accounting since 2009. Previously, he served as chief financial officer for international operations and corporate treasurer. In his new role, he will be responsible for the functions of corporate accounting, tax, global accounting and mergers and acquisitions groups.

Wilkins, 48, served as chief financial officer for U.S. domestic small package operations from 2007 until his recent appointment to investor relations. His previous assignment included four years in international operations, serving as vice president of finance for Canada in 2003, then three years as vice president of finance for Asia Pacific.

“I want to personally thank Andy for his many wonderful years of service to UPS,” said Davis. “In addition, we have three extremely qualified and seasoned professionals in Teresa, Richard and Joe who continue to take on expanding roles within the company. I am confident they will be successful in these new assignments.”

Finley is a 30-year veteran of the company who began her career as an accounting supervisor after graduation from Marquette University with a degree in Business Administration. She progressed through a series of finance and accounting positions in domestic small package operations as well as corporate finance. She then moved into marketing, overseeing pricing, forecasting, planning and research prior to her move to investor relations. Finley graduated from the Wharton Business School Advanced Management Program in 2006.

Peretz joined UPS in 1981 as a part-time clerk while earning a degree in accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He then moved into management and through a series of accounting and financial positions of increasing responsibility. Peretz earned his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 1995 and then moved through a series of finance positions in domestic small package operations and international operations for Latin America. He became vice president of the Strategic Cost Group in 1999 and became international CFO in 2003.

Wilkins joined UPS in 1985 as a part-time package handler. In 1989, he was promoted into management and has held a variety of accounting and finance leadership positions throughout the U.S., rising to North Central Region finance director before his appointment to international operations in 2003. Wilkins earned an undergraduate degree in business from Oklahoma Baptist University and an MBA from Oklahoma City University.
