FedEx Freight Opens New Container Freight Station In ChicagoMEMPHIS, Tenn., March 27, 2014 – FedEx Freight, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), will open a new container freight station in its Chicago Summit, Ill., facility to consolidate and sort freight bound for Puerto Rico, effective March 31.
Freight bound for Puerto Rico was previously processed at the FedEx Freight facility in Newark, N.J.About FedEx FreightWith corporate offices in Memphis, Tenn., the FedEx Freight Segment includes FedEx Freight, a leading U.S. provider of LTL freight services; FedEx Freight Canada, an LTL operating company serving most points in Canada; and FedEx Custom Critical, North America’s largest time-specific, critical shipment carrier.

FedEx Freight Opens New Container Freight Station In Chicago

MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 27, 2014 – FedEx Freight, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), will open a new container freight station in its Chicago Summit, Ill., facility to consolidate and sort freight bound for Puerto Rico, effective March 31.

Shipments to Puerto Rico moving from Chicago Summit will travel five days a week, with updated transit standards reflected in transit maps on fedex.com . The service will benefit any customers shipping to Puerto Rico from North America, including in Canada and Mexico. Customers will continue to receive a single invoice for their less-than-truckload (LTL) and full-container-load (FCL) Puerto Rico shipments through the new Chicago location and the existing Jacksonville, Fla., gateway service center.
