UPS Expands Early Morning Delivery Coverage

The company will add another 766 UPS Next Day Air Early A.M. ZIPs beginning July 21 after adding more than 400 earlier this year.
“UPS Early A.M. is experiencing strong growth over last year, and this announcement is another example of how we will continue to respond to our customers’ needs for express solutions.”

For the second time in five months, UPS® (NYSE: UPS), will boost its competitive advantage by expanding its coverage area for early morning deliveries.

The company will add another 766 UPS Next Day Air Early A.M. ZIPs beginning July 21 after adding more than 400 earlier this year. The Early A.M. service is the earliest morning delivery from UPS, guaranteeing service to more than 87 percent of U.S. businesses. The move will extend UPS’s advantage over the competition in serving more ZIPs and businesses by 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. than any other carrier.

“For critical, time-sensitive shipments, this is one of those services our customers rely upon,” said Charles Strain, UPS vice president, marketing. “UPS Early A.M. is experiencing strong growth over last year, and this announcement is another example of how we will continue to respond to our customers’ needs for express solutions.”

Examples of industries that rely upon morning deliveries include healthcare laboratories that want to receive specimens quickly to process patients’ test results faster; professional service companies, like legal and financial firms, that depend on urgent documents; manufacturers of parts that are needed for urgent repairs; and high tech companies that need to repair mobile devices rapidly so their customers don’t lose connectivity.
