FedEx Welcomes African LeadersHistory’s in the making in Washington this week with the arrival of nearly 50 African heads of state to meet with political and business leaders at the U.S.-Africa Leaders’ Summit.
As a leader in facilitating global trade, FedEx is pleased to be participating in a number of Summit related events.

FedEx has recently expanded business operations in seven countries on the African continent.
With Africa being the third most populated region, its potential economic rise through global trade and investment in the coming years could offer significant positive changes in the global economy.

FedEx Welcomes African Leaders

History’s in the making in Washington this week with the arrival of nearly 50 African heads of state to meet with political and business leaders at the U.S.-Africa Leaders’ Summit. With Africa being the third most populated region, its potential economic rise through global trade and investment in the coming years could offer significant positive changes in the global economy.

As a leader in facilitating global trade, FedEx is pleased to be participating in a number of Summit related events. FedEx has recently expanded business operations in seven countries on the African continent. In May 2014, FedEx Express acquired a ground delivery business serving South Africa, as well as Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland and Zambia, adding over 40 facilities and 1000 new team members.

“FedEx continues to be a leader in providing opportunities that expand economic growth in emerging markets,” said Michael Ducker, President, International, FedEx Express. “We look forward to being a part of improving Africa’s ability to connect to global supply chains, attract investment and diversify their production base.”

FedEx is also committed to supporting the communities where we live and work, and is actively engaged in Africa initiatives, such as Project HOPE, to improve the health and quality of life in communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
