In 2014, UPS completed an expansion of its European air hub in Cologne, which enables connections to UPS’s global logistics network. At the same time, the expansion strengthens Herne as a logistics and business location. UPS currently employs 1,100 people in its operation in Herne, and the expansion is expected to create up to 300 new jobs at the hub when the new capacity is fully utilized.

Deutsche Post DHL Group meets 2015 earnings forecast with record operating performance in the fourth quarter

EBIT in Global Forwarding, Freight rose by 39.4% to EUR 99 million (2014: EUR 71 million), above all due to the implementation of turnaround measures.

Deutsche Post DHL Group publishes its 12th Corporate Responsibility Report

“Essential” – the title of the Group’s CR Report 2015 – underscores the value placed on responsible business practice at Deutsche Post DHL Group. The non-profit Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) awarded Deutsche Post DHL Group the highest possible score of 100A for its environmental protection program.Carbon efficiency remains the Group’s most important environmental KPI. In the reporting year, Deutsche Post DHL Group increased the carbon efficiency of its operations by one index point over the previous year. The Corporate Responsibility Report also records volunteer work performed by Group employees. Among other things, Deutsche Post DHL Group has made some 1,000 additional internships available Germany-wide exclusively for refugees, thereby laying the foundations for potential apprenticeships and future employment with the company.
