Airbus honors DHL with Best Performer Award

At this year’s ‘Best in Class 2016 Partner Awards’ DHL was recognized for its excellence as the aircraft manufacturer’s Fourth-Party Logistics (4PL) partner

DHL, the world’s leading logistics service provider, has been acknowledged by Airbus for its outstanding contributions to the Airbus Group and received this year’s Best Performer Award in the category General Procurement. The annual award, which was handed over at the annual Supplier Conference award ceremony in Hamburg on October 5th, recognizes DHL’s excellence in being the aircraft manufacturer’s fourth-party logistics partner (4PL). The breadth of DHL’s portfolio, provided throughout Airbus’ entire network in a very consistent, high-quality and transparent way, was decisive in being selected for this year’s award.

“It’s an honor to be recognized as Best Performer. Only market leading team work makes it possible to deliver these performance levels,” said Marja-Liisa Turtiainen, Vice President Aviation & Aerospace DHL Customer Solutions and Innovation, at the award ceremony in Hamburg.

The Airbus relationships are managed by DHL Customer Solutions and Innovation. The neutral 4PL- unit manages the Airbus supply chain by deploying services with all the DHL business units and other selected business partners. This includes transportation via air, sea, land and rail, express shipments, aircraft on the ground emergencies, inbound to manufacturing, control towers as well as warehousing including packaging solutions, break bulk, customs.
