Deutsche Post DHL Group celebrates global Diversity Day

2017 will mark the company’s fifth consecutive year of taking part in the annual Diversity Day event organized across Germany by the Diversity Charter, providing DPDHL with a special opportunity to promote awareness of the topic of diversity among employees.

Standing together for diversity and inclusion around the world: Employees organize a wide range of activities during international Diversity Week

With a workforce of around 510,000 staff around the world, Deutsche Post DHL Group is one of the world’s largest employers. In its Bonn headquarters alone, the company employs people from approximately 50 different countries. The topics of diversity, inclusion, tolerance and respect represent an integral component of corporate culture and working life within the Group. Indeed, diversity management is afforded prominent status in the company, as evident from the slogan “All Different – Together Successful.” The Group’s Diversity and Inclusion Statement emphasizes Deutsche Post DHL Group’s express commitment to embracing diversity, and does so in a manner that goes beyond gender, nationality and ethnic origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability and other characteristics protected by law. 2017 will mark the company’s fifth consecutive year of taking part in the annual Diversity Day event organized across Germany by the Diversity Charter, providing DPDHL with a special opportunity to promote awareness of the topic of diversity among employees. Last year alone colleagues in approx. 200 locations all around the world took part in different activities to celebrate international Diversity Day.

Respect and tolerance apply 365 days a year in our company – however, I am delighted that so many colleagues are inspired by Diversity Day and view it as a special opportunity to celebrate our cultural diversity anew.”

Once again this year, activities include podium discussions ranging from diversity management to generational diversity, as well as cultural initiatives such as picnics and joint excursions; colleagues will also have the chance to see different national costumes on display and take part in discussions on traditions and lifestyles.

Deutsche Post DHL Group has been a signatory and member of the Diversity Charter since 2010. The Diversity Charter is a corporate initiative to promote diversity within companies and institutions with the aim of advancing the recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in corporate culture in Germany. In addition, Deutsche Post DHL Group is a member of the Diversity-Network of the Rhine-Ruhr region. On the occasion of the fifth German Diversity Day representatives of the fifteen biggest companies of the region will meet in Essen. They will discuss under the motto “Diversity instead of simplemindedness – cultural competences for economic success”. Part of the network are Bayer, Deutsche Post DHL Group, Deutsche Telekom, ERGO, E.ON, Ford, GEA, Henkel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Lanxess, METRO, innogy SE, thyssenkrupp, TÜV Rheinland and Vodafone.
